A Legacy Woven in Wood

Since 1920

It began in the 1920s when Wisenthi Fernando taught raw timber to obey vision. His eldest, Harold Fernando—soon hailed in Moratuwa as "Harold Bass"—carried that flame into Sri Lanka's most trusted furniture capital, turning a family craft into a standard.

Strength After Loss

Famed and flourishing, Harold "Bass" Fernando passed too soon. In the hush that followed, his beloved wife, Mrs. Leelawathi Fernando took the bench—five children at her side, three sons and two daughters—transforming loss into leadership.

"She grew the business and made history as the first woman president of the Moratuwa Furniture Society."

Legacy, Multiplied

Three sons stepped forward to carry what their parents and grandparents began. The eldest advanced their mother's vision at Lakmali Furnishers; another forged a new path with St. Anthony's Furnishers.

Side by side, the brothers transformed a family workshop into a standard—rising to become among Sri Lanka's most prominent and trusted partners to the hotel industry and large housing developments.

From Homegrown to World‑known

Now, the torch passes again: Mrs. Leelawathi Fernando's granddaughter—daughter of Mr. Primal Fernando—Mrs. T. R. S. S. Fernando Randiwela steps into the family's trademark business with a rare blend of heart and rigor.

A mother of four, an educator, an entrepreneur, and a businesswoman, she brings boardroom clarity and classroom patience to a legacy built in wood and will.

Mrs. T R S S Fernando is the Directress of Golden Comfort Furniture and the third‑generation steward of her family's craft. A wife and mother of four, she also serves as a director at Golden Bridge International College in Sri Lanka, and is an entrepreneur who blends an educator's discipline with a designer's eye. Under her leadership, Golden Comfort unites heirloom joinery with contemporary aesthetics to deliver bespoke, ultra‑luxury pieces for hotels, apartments, and discerning homes.
